Dr. Carl Friddle

Dr. Carl Friddle

(part dentist, part mayor, part Southern legend.)

After practicing dentistry for 45 years in Fort Smith, Arkansas, Dr. Carl Friddle retired to Nashville to be closer to his children and grandchildren…and promptly drove his wife just crazy enough that we took him in before she changed the locks. He brings decades of wisdom, charm, and a whole lot of stories we didn’t know we needed.

Dr. Friddle completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Arkansas (woo, pig, soooie! said with reverence) before earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the Baylor College of Dentistry. Dentistry clearly runs in the family: his son, Cody, is also a practicing dentist. So if you ever find yourself in the Washington, D.C. area with a dental emergency, we can point you in the right direction.

After moving to Nashville, Dr. Friddle settled into Windsor Tower, where he has seamlessly become the unofficial mayor. Truly, if you walk through the lobby with him, prepare to stop at least seven times because everyone knows him!

Dr. Friddle is an avid traveler, an enthusiastic golfer, a faithful Christian, and a man who never met a social event he didn’t want to attend, host, or possibly reorganize. He and his wife have been married for 54 years, a love story that has weathered dental school, three children, eight grandchildren, and retirement (barely). All eight grandkids call him Big Daddy, and we get why. He’s warm, hilarious, protective, and just mischievous enough to keep things interesting.

In the office, Dr. Friddle practices all aspects of general dentistry but has a special affection for cosmetics. If it involves making a smile brighter, smoother, straighter, or prettier, he’s your man. With 35+ years of experience and the steadiness of someone who has seen everything twice, Big Daddy brings a calm confidence and a twinkle-in-the-eye joy to every patient he sees.

Between his deep faith, his bigger-than-life personality, his devotion to family, and his gift for making everyone feel at ease, Dr. Friddle is the heartbeat of our office, our very own Southern statesman in scrubs.
